TOTO
Budokhan Hall
Tokyo, Japan
May 18th 1982

First four TOTO albums were very good.
Hydra is my favourite by far as it has more proggy elements.
Funnily enough the 15 minute plus version of Africa here
(which has a slight cut) is very proggy.
i know they have an almost cult following to this day
but I lost touch with their later output.
I was the guy at school clutching the first album on release
who was ridiculed by those Sabbath fans (bastards).
I once recorded a cover of English Eyes.
All went well until I tried to sing
the "english eyes" refrain after the bridge.
Listened the original and realised Bobby Kimball sang those two words.
He is Good!
This is a well circulated soundboard recording
but I am happy to further circulate it.
Love the Steely Dan reference in Million Miles Away
(can you spot it?)
Wish they had played White Sister and St. George
but hey you can't have it all.
Footnote...99 is an ice cream in the UK (with a flake in it).
regards
Titus

  1. Always been in trouble with the band Toto as their music sound so polished, so perfect without real wildness, harshness, rock'n'rollness... and still they're such good musicians you would forgive them ! A kind of band you love to hate and to love again.

Really, I'm not talking about my lovely wife at all :)

  4. No croissants, no frog legs, no camembert, no red burgundy wine, nothing anymore until the end of the lockdown under a cold november rain ! Sounds desperate, isn't it ? But bootlegs and music still exist !!! Thanks for being there over the internet,
