Marillion
Rooftop Skyroom
Buffalo, NY
July 26th 1983

Slightly tweaked soundboard.
The sound engineer is messing with the levels during the first two minutes.
After that it's quite good albeit with some minor cuts and edits.
I was drunk when I did the artwork.

Marillion
Pinkpop festival
Burgemeester Damen Sportpark
Geleen, Netherlands
June 11th 1984

Remastered soundboard/FM(?)
There are a couple of songs missing from the set
but it is a good quality recording.
Essential for Marillion-heads I would have thought.

Marillion
Zuiderpark
The Hague, Netherlands
July 3rd 1983

A remastered radio broadcast from the Fish era.
I was never a big fan to be honest.
Although I have mellowed my attitude towards them over time
this early stuff still sounds like a poor attempt to copy Genesis.
The same accusation could be laid at the door of IQ but I like them.
It's a thin line between plagiarism and influence.
I saw Marilion in 82 or 83.
Peter Hammill was their support act.
Hammill blew them away and should have headlined.
I respect Steve Hogarth a lot for steering the band
in a more creative/individual direction
even though I find a lot of it somewhat bland/one-paced.
On a positive note: this is a pretty good recording
and I know they have a devoted following.
Guitarist Steve Rothery's band played an all-day event I attended
a few years ago and I quite liked that. It had more spirit.
