Santana

Montreal/NYC

Remastered soundboard.

This is a vague one.

I'm not sure of the dates or venues.

The recording seems to have first surfaced around 1993.

Some of it may be from Forum de Montréal, Canada November 3rd 1992.

The Russ Ballard cover 'Winning' is not a song they played that often.

I couldn't find any evidence of them performing it. in New York or Montreal,

during the early 90s and I'm not sure who sings it.

I suspect the 1980s as a more likely era for the New York portion.

That's assuming ANY of it is from Montreal or New York :)

Does anyone know anything more about this?

The sound quality is pretty good.

Remastered FM.

Decent quality recording of this Halloween concert.

They played two sets and I believe this is the early show.

The tunes from the (unfashionable?) early 80s albums sound really good.

Great gig with all the musicians getting their chance to shine.

Some issues but mostly OK quality-wise.

August 29th 1970

(from the rebroadcast on April 14th 2014)

I'm never sure about sharing Philums.

But here's a film from my archives.

This is a 28 minute gem but the audio was merde. (excuse my French)

Why do they never work on these things?

Anyway, your friendly neighbourhood blogger has stepped in to sort it out.

I turned it into a DVD.

Sound is still shite but better!

Took me ten years to get around to it.

I probably should have saved this one for it's 50th anniversary

This is incomplete/fragmented but a great Lotus era gig.

I ironed out a few of the more annoying volume shifts

and did a few other minor adjustments.

A bit rough around the edges but certainly listenable.
