Motörhead
Paris Theatre, London
May 16th 1979

Reposted from November 2023

I went to my first 'proper' gig on June 6th 1977.
It was Hawkwind at the Preston Guild Hall.
Opening band was Motörhead.
Phil Taylor had a broken wrist.
The roadies gaffer taped the drumstick to his hand between each song.
I recall going to look at the T shirts etc. at half-time and realised I was half deaf
...with ringing in my ears.
Happy days and I still have the, rather bland, ticket:

This is a very good quality slice of early Motörhead.

Titus

  1. quite the bill! and poor animal. like a boxer getting taped up between rounds.
i saw MH open for ozzy's first myc show and it was loud!
but their final show as the original lineup
was likely the loudest thing i've ever experienced.
    like hard to breathe loud!
    thanks, this looks good!

  3. Saw Motorhead in a small concert hall of 400 people, something like a rehearsal for a next day big festival concert. Lemmy warned us : we are Motorhead and we're gonna kick your French little bastards' asses. It was deafening loud. The next day I had to to teach trainees but my left ear was still ringing like a whistle. I couldn't hear/understand what people were saying to me.
    Those were the days,
