As some of you may know Mrs. Luxor is German
so at this time of year my thoughts turn to
all things Teutonic. Hell, we even open our
presents on Xmas eve as do the British royal family
who are also German (except Phil who is Greek).
This is the very first episode of Beat Club
from September 25th 1965.
--Show begins with an introduction by William Wieben.
--Opening credits: The Yankees - "Halbstark."
--Beat-Club hosts: Gerd Augustin and Uschi Nerke.
--The Yankees (band from Bremen) - "Tequila," "Always and Ever" and "Help."
--The Liverbirds (all-female band from Liverpool)
- "Peanut Butter," short interview, "Why Do You Hang Around Me" & "Bo Diddley Daddy."
--John O'Hara & his Playboys (band from Scotland)
- "I'm Down" and "We´ve Gotta Get Out of This Place."
--John O'Hara & his Playboys perform "Wooly Bully"
(while audience members demonstrate a dance called "The Memphis").
Closing credits: John O'Hara & Playboys continue with "Wooly Bully."

I am not always sure what the hosts are saying
as my German is pretty limited.
"großes Bier" is my tip of the week
unless you want to risk being given a thimble sized glass.
regards
Titus
