The Flower Kings
The Forum
Metuchen, NJ, USA
October 14th 2006

Yet another brilliant audience recording.
TFK are one of best bands ever for this kind of thing.
They nearly always have a great sound/mix.
This, combined with how they often seem to attract respectful crowds,
means the potential for a good capture is high.
Really nice to hear Tomas talk/sing on a rare performance
of one his solo songs American Standards.
Good fun version of ZZ Top's Tush too
sung by, their road manager, Bob Snyder.
Billed as 'Flower Kings Day' I wonder what exactly happened.
Both Roine and Tomas mention a full further set to come later.
Anyway...due to the 47 minute Truth section which was unsplitable IMO
it left disc 2 at a paltry 15 minutes.
TFK released a few self-distributed Fan Club CDs during the 2000s.
So I have included the first one from 2000 to fill up disc 2
which is probably very hard to find by now
and includes their version of the Genesis song Cinema Show.
And a Beatles cover.
The Fan Club stuff reveals a side of the band
that differs from the main albums and shows the range of their influences.
I am so good to you people!
Don't like The Flower Kings?
Then get off my blog.
Just Kidding...you are welcome...but stand at the back and keep quiet.
I would happily turn gay if I could marry Roine Stolt
but Mrs. Luxor is not keen on the idea.
BTW very nice artwork by American artist Lois Kleber
who I was once married to.
I will dedicate this post to TJK who helped me out this week.
Thanks TJK.
regards
Titus
