I put this in a 'to be looked at' folder when I got it shortly after the gig.

Within 12 months Allen Lanier had died and I ignored this recording for 8 years.

However, here is the long overdue remaster.

I won't bore you with the technical process. (thank God! 'Editor')

It's an audience source...some chat but generally solid.

Buck's guitar is loud and you can hear all his chops

even during parts where he is usually just adding texture while singing.

I must mention Buck has a couple of car-crash moments.

The first is the 'Untouchables' style lead in Golden Age of Leather

which he completely screws up

as if it's arrival had taken him completely by surprise.

Ironic as it is possibly the simplest thing in his entire repertoire.

Needless to say he mainly plays brilliantly.

Sound here is unusual but I think it is really good.

And the show, of course, is amazing

with guests, acoustic section, rare songs

and the famous five playing live together again!

Albert shows off mercilessly during the closing section of The Reaper.

This was, sadly, Allen's last appearence.

I adored him as a kid.

First time I saw BOC in the 70s Allen chain-smoked throughout

and had bare feet...and was going out/staying in with Patty Smith.

Seemed cool to me!

When they returned for an encore I noticed in the preamble of notes

that Allen was playing the riff to Career of Evil.

I smuggly thought I was one of the few who had spotted this clue.

They launched into O.D'd on Life Itself...LOL

What I loved about it was that Allen was playing the riff...for fun!
