Genesis
The Luxor Lamb
(compiled from the 74/75 tour)
Reposted from March 2021
This is a project that goes back many years.
I don't have the details of the sources
but I think it is mainly from Boston, Lakeside and Liverpool.
It's been through so many reworkings I have lost track of it all.
So not one for purists I guess but it sounds pretty good to my ears
and it gave me the opportunity to include the three different encores
which were played on the Lamb tour.

Titus

I came too late to Genesis as I missed the whole PG period and later never really got into the Lamb double LP. Too difficult for me except for the hits as Carpet Crawlers or Liliwhite Lilith. As now I am fully grown up, I will give it a new try thanks to this version with the three encores.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from summertime in Paris,
Might not be the bst way to approach The Lamb but I cou;d be wrong. I envy people who haven't got into the Nursery Cryme to Lamb period. If it was possible, I'd pay to have the memories wiped so I could rediscover thier music.
DeleteThanks for this, Titus. The Lamb was my introduction to the band and I got it from my best friend for Christmas in '74. Looking forward to giving this a listen
ReplyDeletePeace.
That was a good xmas gift!
ReplyDeleteThanks Titus. I, as well, was a little late to the game on the PG period. But since have had hours of enjoyment in delving into the early Genesis ouvre. I appreciate your documenting that early period live, and as usual, with impeccable sound!
ReplyDeleteI always love a good lamb roast and looking at the track listing for this concert, I think this will come a close 2nd ! Thanks for the share Titus. Cheers from DownUnder AR2
