Sykotik Sinfoney
Please Buy My Kidney So I Can Burst Into Flames/Spork
(early 90s demos)

Reposted from April 2021

Let's start with the write-up on Discogs
(who incidentally have an old front cover for this which I made years ago)
This version has my original, very amatuerish/pre SAM, cover art.

"Sykotik Sinfoney was a quirky American comedy heavy metal/punk rock musical group.
They formed in 1988 under the short-lived name, Dycondra's.
During this time they dressed in their usual street clothes
but hired a variety of performers like jugglers and female dancers
to perform with them on stage. They quickly changed their band name
and dropped the extra performers who proved to be unreliable on the road.
The first instance of these costumes was a show in which the performers
did not show up. However, the group found a bag of costumes
and promptly donned them. They became known as Sykotik Sinfoney and began
to perform live wearing a variety of strange costumes,
such as a nun, a devil, and a clown.
Sometime in early 1994, the band broke up.
Their only official appearance on an album was the Bad Channels soundtrack.
however, the band did over 300 shows in six years
under Dycondra's and Sykotik Sinfoney, according to band member Mark Meister.
Today, this band is seen as being way ahead of their time."

I discovered them way back. They still had a website despite having split up.
Only thing they sold was a DVD of a live show.
They gave away, for free, audio files of their demos.
This is my collection of those tracks.
I disagree with saying they are comedy/metal/punk.
They are all of those but much more as they cover a wide range of styles
including faux traditional German music (Little Ol' Lady Polka)
There's also a fair slice of avant Zappaesque madness/offensiveness
plus moments that sound like The Tubes.
They are really good and had an amazing stage show.
How they were not more successful surprises me
but maybe their eclectic approach frightened off record labels.
I ripped the CD as FLAC although I  the original files were probably mp3.
BTW
Sykotik Sinfoney had two songs on the 'Bad Channels' movie soundtrack
which is, as far as I know, their only officialiy released material.
That soundtrack also features two non-album Blue Öyster Cult songs
and back in the P2P days many people mislabelled the Sykotiks,
and everything else on the record, as BÖC which led to a lot of confusion!
Some unscrupulous/ignorant companies sold 'Bad Channels as a BÖC album.

Titus
