The Chameleons
Zeche
Bochum, Germany
October 21st 1986

Another band from the 80s that are well worth a mention.
This is a remastered soundboard (I think radio) recording.
Still not great but hopefully improved.
Not too sure about the Bowie cover.
Sounds a bit shambolic/out of tune to my sensitive ears.
Chameleons were a Manchester 'indie' band
who, perhaps, didn't quite get the recognition they deserved.
From The Smiths to Happy Mondays/Oasis etc.,
they were all influenced by The Chameleons' wall-of-sound guitar style.
My fandom was cemented with the song 'View from a Hill'.
(not performed here)
This is the title of an M.R. James story (I love M.R. James)
so I knew they were, at least on some level, soulmates.
regards
Titus
