Steve Hackett report
Bradford 2021
Thouroughly enjoyed it. Far better than the Tull show.
I was relieved the sound and performance
seemed much improved compared to the Liverpool gig I posted.
My first time in Bradford and I quite liked it.
Drink prices were very good as well!
Even the local car park was Genesis themed:
I don't often take photos at concerts (as you can probably tell)
but in my role as roving reporter for TLD I took a couple.
Row K turned out to be the 5th row...strange..,but nice for me.
Maybe they have their own version of the alphabet in Bradford?.
The whole band were on good form
and they looked like they were really enjoying themselves.
Man of the match: Jonas Reingold.
regards
Titus
nice! and glad to band was in better form - it's been a while for any working band.
ReplyDeletenice pics, steve seems to have the mick jagger gene for looking impossibly young after so many years.
amazing that two bands are playing gabriel era genesis on the same island at the same time!
(how nice it would be for steve to make a last appearance with his old 'mates!)

Thanks for the report Titus, SH is playing near me soon I'll try and grab some tix. As for Tull, Ians voice has been shot for years. About 10 years ago I saw Dayglo Pirates, who were one of the best tribute bands I'd seen. Sorry but Ian doesn't need the money, surely on instrumental band would be better.
ReplyDeleteI think Ian has indicated he will not be doing live Tull shows much longer. I'm really tempted to see if I can get to another Hackett show
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to the Paris Seconds Out concert and will try to take some pictures :)
ReplyDeletebe sure to share your pics Derek!

DeleteAs requested, magical show in Paris. Biggest ever ! I heard someone commenting "Meilleur qu'en 1977". I was really impressed by the concert, what a sound !
Thanks a lot Derek
DeleteFor those who care, la Salle Pleyel in Paris, where Steve and his Band played, was previously dedicated only to classical music, chamber music, piano extravaganza. Thre was a change in ownership some year ago and they opened concerts to other types of music. Definitely the sound is marvelous in that place ; I think they could almost play with PA such beauty is the sound. I saw Brian Wilson there and the sound was equally marvelous, except sometimes for his voice that went the wrong way. No pun intended. Great place for a great concert. Check out future dates in 2022, whatever the pandemic might look like next year....
ReplyDeleteI do not know the venue. Thanks for the info Derek
DeleteNext concert, Cheap Trick in February in Brussels. Guess the the pandemic will not allow such expectation... sniff'n'the tears.
DeleteThink my next one is Amon Duul in March. I'm not holding my breath (beneath my mask)
