Mike Watt & The Black Gang Crew
Berbati's Pan
Portland OR
October 9th 1997

From Minutemen to fIREHOSE and beyond
Mike has always stayed true to his stripped down version
of avant garde punk rock madness.
This is a remastered soundboard.
I'd describe it as a bastard child
conceived during an unsavoury ménage à trois
involving Tom Waits, Captain Beefheart and Primus.
(if I was going to describe it...which I'm not)
regards
Titus

  1. Love Mike Watt's attitude and all his musical adventures. I have quite a bit of tuneage of fIREHOSE/Minutemen/Banyan etc but not this! Looking forward to a good listen.
    Cheers my man.

    1. I've never seen Mike Watt in any guise :( Didn't he produce Sonic Youth? Or have I dreamt that?

  3. BTW I'm into venues. Berbati's Pan is sadly closed. I wanted to salute them on the front cover

    1. nice cover and tribute (quite the sign!). i feel that pain as nearly every venue i frequented 80-00's in NYC and NJ is long gone.
