Isotope
Deep End (1976)
Isotope made three albums, I guess you'd call them jazz-fusion.
The first two are OK but this third effort was much better.
Not challenging compositions, by genre standards, just nicely done.
It features the delicious talents of Morris Pert on percussion
plus a guest appearance by Hugh Hopper.
Produced by Robin Lumley of Brand X fame.
(trivia: he is the second cousin of Joanna Lumley)
There's a CD version with four bonus tracks
which are just remasters of four of the album cuts
but I don't like those at all so here's the original.
Let's face it, twelve months after this was released,
your average self-respecting/safety pin-a-wearin' yoof
would not have been seen dead listening to this shit.
They were doomed...doomed I tell ye.
regards
