Flo & Eddie (1973)

An mp3 copy of Mark and Howard's second albun
after they left the Mothers of Invention.
(slightly tweaked)
A masterpiece in my opinion. Produced by Bob Ezrin.
Flo & Eddie were the opening act on Alice Cooper's
Billion Dollar Babies tour in 1973.
There is an interesting video which you can see here
...not only do we get to hang out with Flo & Eddie
we also get an amazing Tom Waits section
(rocking in more ways than one)
plus Bernie Taupin, David Bowie, Chaka Khan and David Cassidy.
back to the album...
I could wax lyrical on every song here but I'll stick with a few highlights.
(Thank God...Ed.)
The last three tracks form a kind of suite in my mind
as they are all about music in some way:
The cynical side of the industry
The love of music
The journey from childhood which led to it all.
Best versions ever of Days/Afterglow IMO.
Their ability to stand around a mic and make you picture
acrobats attempting some kind of daring feat is extraordinary.
regards
Titus
