Progglådan Box A: Tung Rock & Blues CD106
Peps 73/76
Not someone I was previously familiar with.
slightly edited from wiki:
Per-Åke Tommy Persson (December 20th 1946 – June 27th 2021)
known by the stage name Peps Persson, was a Swedish blues/reggae musician
and social critic from Tjörnarp, Scania.
Throughout his career he mostly made music in Swedish
and was well known for his Scanian dialect.
He made a few albums in English.
His songs from the 1970s have become Swedish classics,
'Falsk matematik' was number-one on Svensktoppen for 15 weeks.
This recording is from the time of Pep's Blodsband, a transistion into reggae.
The first part is very good bluesy stuff. Really good!
The second part is a mix of blues and (mostly) reggae.
Still good...but I must admit I prefer the blues.
An interesting musician.
regards
Titus
