Roy Buchanan
American Axe Tracks
Volume One - In The Beginning
1957-64

Reposted from September 2024

A remastered overview of Roy Buchanan's early recorded output.
He started his professional career aged 15 in Johnny Otis's rhythm and blues revue.
From home recordings to his first pro slot on 'My Babe'
and onto other tracks which featured his guitar playing.
Sound quality varies, as you can imagine,
but overall it's well worth a listen if you are interested in Roy.
There is more info on the inner CD cover.
regards
Titus

  1. Hi Titus. This is Bob from Tennessee. Will you please re-up this volume? I want to be respectful of your instructions, so should I wait until you re-up volume 1 before putting a request for a re-up of volume 2 and then 3? ? Thanks for all you do to not only share this music with us, but also to improve the sound quality where you can. Your efforts are highly-appreciated.

    1. New link added Bob. 'Tennessee Bob' sounds like it could be a bourbon or a racehorse :) There are only two more volumes of American Axe to go so I was half expecting someone to request re-ups of the older posts. If people make multiple requests at once it is too much for me to cope with and it just clogs up the recent comments. Might be an idea for you to listen to vol.1 then come back for vol.2?

  2. ...or a racehorse who drinks Bourbon. :) Hi Titus. Thank you very kindly for the repost. I am such a Roy Buchanan fan that I consider myself a collector. He almost never plays the same song the same way twice depending on his mental state at the moment. Volumes 4-9 appear to be taken from his official albums which I already have, so I will be requesting volumes 2 and 3...One at a time of course. Thank you once again. The music you share with us makes my ears very happy.
