Rory Gallagher
Hammersmith Odeon
London, England
January 13th 1979

Another recent rebroadcast I captured from the wireless.
I did a bit of tweaking with this one.
Rory on the right, Gerry McAvoy on the left
with Ted Ted McKenna inbetween holding it all together.
Really good through headphones.

  1. stellar recording titus. i got to see rory open for rush at MSG NYC on signals tour. rory's comparatively stripped-down power trio sound was a revelation, in contrast to a synth-heavy rush, and well before i had encountered the minutemen and the meat puppets (in 85). thanks for this gem!

    1. I'd have been tempted to head for the pub after Rory's set :)

    2. i was sitting first row so stayed put, but yea, this rush show was a letdown compared to the previous three tours. i didn't see a rush show i really loved until their return in 02 for vapour trails, when they'd re-embraced their guitar-heavy sound.
