Anyone remember the original Virgin shop on Lever Street?
A lot of German bands and more could be discovered in there
if you riffled through the, somewhat expensive, imports bin.
It felt 'underground' then but by the end of the 70s they'd moved into a megastore.

  1. I remember it well......and the car tyre seats. In early 1977 I bumped into Pete Shelley rifling through the Amon Duul albums. He told me he had crabs. I made sure not to flick through the albums he'd been looking at!

  3. As Mr. Loog is no doubt aware Pete Shelley now has a large mural tribute in his home town of Leigh. From humble beginnings eh? :)
