Return To Forever
Carnegie Hall
New York City
July 3rd 1974
Heavily remastered FM (?) often billed as soundboard.
Not the best quality recording but notable/interesting
as It was "Albert" Di Meola's live debut with the band
Chick noticeably takes more solo responsibilities
than he would need to once Al got his teeth into the material.
Great to hear this legendary line up during it's embryonic conception.
regards
Titus
01 warm up/Hymn to the Seventh Galaxy
02 band intros/Song to the Pharoah Kings
03 The Shadow of Lo
04 Where Have I Known You Before?
05 Stanley Clarke solo
06 The Vulcan Empire/outro
Thanks Titus. RTF in their heyday. Sound is considerably better than some of the recordings I already have. Plus, as always, Chick slays!
ReplyDeleteI've been meaning to ask...do you have any recordings of yourself/your old band?
DeleteUnfortunately (or maybe fortunately), no. We were nothing exceptional and didn't have much of a following. Mostly, it was a bunch of guys just playing for the love of the music. Thanks for asking though, it brought back some happy memories and took me back to a simpler time. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this debut for Al. I collect everything he has done.
ReplyDeleteCheers from DownUnder. AR2
