The Only Ones/Whitesnake
Paris Theatre
London, UK
July 5th 1978

Another unlikely double bill from the BBC archives.
Freshly captured from the wireless.
The Only Ones remind me of the Buzzcocks.
I had two Whitesnake ordeals/experiences.
This one:

...and again in 1983:

That was more than enough for me.
This early period is probably when they were their best.
I tacked on a remaster of their 1978 OGWT session.

Titus

  1. I remember hearing this gig on the radio at the time. My first gig was Whitesnake supported by Magnum, Nov 1978, and in those four months Jon Lord had joined the band, of course news traveled slower in those days, so seeing Jon Lord on stage was very exciting. Thanks, they were a great band in the early days, but I went off them by 1982.

  2. It seems we are all stuck with the early Whitesnake and did not really follow the MTV hair glam metal video promotional best selling US period. How strange are we...
