end of an era. i watched the ppv footage of the long ovation for ozzy after his sabbath bandmates had left the stage. with the camera nearly capturing ozzy's POV, with fireworks overhead, had ozzy passed right there it would have been a poetic acknowledgement that it doesn't get any better than that. i later heard criticism that ozzy had actually left the door open for future musical projects, this was only a retirement from *live* performance. as such today's news caught me off-guard, but for ozzy's sake, i'm glad he made it to and through the farewell concert. fellow brummie jeff lynne cancelled the two final ELO concerts due to illness, doctor's orders. RIP ozzy. sabbath's music is still haunting and relevant to my ears. among the greatest of the greats. mikeL
