Herr Schmitt was unhappy in Austria.
He sought a new life in America.
It took many days to travel to the coast of France.
Then a boat to England.
Schmitt had heard the southern ports were expensive, so he headed for Liverpool.
He found it was actually cheaper to cross to Ireland
and take a ship to America from there.
On arrival they wrote his name down as Smith.
To this day his descendants swear they are Irish.

Titus

  1. Everybody comes from somewhere else, and I mean everybody. The English for example are not native to Britain. They come from S Denmark, NW Germany and the Low Countries. coming in the 5th, 6th and 7th centuries mostly. The native Brits/Romano British saw them coming on their little boats to kent and Essex and thought "this lot are trouble". they were right. Now they think they own the fucking place. Nobody owns anything, it's all on loan.
    Amen
