ReplyDeleteIn 1812 the United States invaded Canada, thinking the Canadians would welcome them with open arms. The Canadians with British army help responded with weapons fire. The American soldiers went on the rampage.
ReplyDeleteLater on a small British fleet landed and British Marines plus a force made up of freed slaves from Virginia marched towards Washington meeting little opposition and burnt down the White House.
A heart warming tale. Wonder why Hollywood hasn't made a film of it.?
