Beat Club
Episode 68
June 24th 1971
I don't have episode 67 (May 22nd 1971}
so if anybody can share that one I'd be very grateful.
This is an interesting edition.
John Lawton (later of Uriah Heep) fronting German band Lucifer's Friend
and ex-Deep Purple bassist Nick Simper's Warhorse with Ashley Holt on vocals.
Ashley later worked extensively with Rick Wakeman.
Wakeman had also done a brief stint in Lucifer's Friend
so I guess that was the genesis of their collaborations.
There's also footage of Grand Funk Railroad which I think is from Shea Stadium
and a piece from the Bremer Studio Orchestra.
The section on ex-Vietnam soldiers in Sweden is a curiosity.
As a youngster I was awe struck by reports on the news.
They said things like "American troops were attacked by gorillas
who came out of the jungle". WOW!!!
I figured it out eventually.

Titus
Lucifer's Friend - Ride the Sky
Warhorse - Ritual
Frumpy (feat. Inga Rumpf) - Take Care of Illusion
