Blue Öyster Cult
Royal Concert Hall
Nottingham, England
December 9th 1985
Remastered audience recording.
Sound quality is pretty rough/overdriven...maybe for fans-only.
The first half of 'Burnin' for You' is very warbly
and sounds like it's patched from an inferior copy of the tape.
The taper made multiple satirical comments (mostly between songs).
I removed most of these but "Casio tone Mk.2" could not be eradicated.
I managed to patch-out the "time for a shit" during the drum solo.
At the end he deemed the crowd "worst fucking audience in the world".
It must be a Nottingham sense of humour thing :)
This is from the 'Club Ninja' era with four songs in the set.
The album was not generally well received.
I saw them twice in 1985.
The first was at the Guild Hall in Preston.
It was December 4th and a mosh-pit job
so the ticket did not fair well in that sweat-sodden atmosphere:
It was quite a decent UK tour:
Of course I couldn't resist the final show in Manchester :)
Btw The album was only released on the 10th so no one had heard it.
The US release was held back to February 11th 1986.
Twelve days after that Joe Bouchard played his last show in Tokyo.
It all showed how lacklustre and indifferent the "industry" had become.
I think 'Club Ninja' had bad production and a feeble mix.
The songs sounded better live.
I'm surprised they didn't play 'Perfect Water'.
