Happy Easter Dear Readers.

The Timeline:
Jesus was crucified on Friday afternoon (Good Friday)
and his body was in the tomb by Friday evening.
He rose early on Sunday morning (Easter Sunday).

An impressive trick, however:
According to the Gospel of John (11:17, 39), Lazarus of Bethany
had been dead in his tomb for four days before Jesus raised him.

Thus Jesus had to settle for the silver medal at the resurrection Olympic games.

Some Pagan nonsense:
The Goddess Ēostre (Ostara):
Mentioned by the 8th-century monk Bede,
Ēostre was an Anglo-Saxon goddess of dawn, light, and spring,
whose celebrations took place in April.

The Easter Hare:
The hare is a strong symbol of fertility,
often associated with the goddess Ēostre and spring renewal,
likely forming the root of the 'Easter Bunny' myth.

The Hare receives a pep-talk from his manager
before going head to head with the formidable Tortoise.

Eggs and Rebirth:
Eggs represent fertility and new life in many ancient cultures,
long before they were adopted to represent the empty tomb of Christ.

Easter peeve:
Chocolate Easter eggs which don't have the 'treat' inside of the egg.
Makes my blood boil!
If I had to single out one thing that encapsulates the downfall of civilised society
it would be the advent of that abhorrent practise.
regards
Titus
