Quest for Fire (1981)

This Canadian-French co-production is a film adaptation
of the 1911 Belgian novel The Quest for Fire by J.-H. Rosny.
Allegedly set in the Paleolithic era or Old Stone Age(s) :)
It's historical accuracy is more than debatable.
Who cares?...it is a classic.

They don't talk, just grunts, so no need for subtitles.
Special language forms were created by novelist Anthony Burgess,
while patterns of movement and gesture were developed
by anthropologist Desmond Morris.

You gotta start somewhere :) (cartoon by Gary Larson)
