San Francisco Underground Radio
"It Crawled Out of the Vaults of KSAN" 1966-1968
Volume 1

You could say this is a bit like a US west coast
version of the 60s at the BEEB series.
This first volume is made up entirely of Grateful Dead.
I did some remastering but obviously there are limitations
to a recording of this vintage.
The first song was the worst as one channel was in very poor condition
so I duplicated the better channel...after that the sound improves.
I doctored some drop-outs then normalised the whole thing.
Hope you Deadheads enjoy it.
I've never been a big fan but I quite like this early stuff.
I did once see Dead-related band Kingfish in 1977.
If memory serves me right they were opening for Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow.
Bit of an odd combination but I was into them
although I suspect Bob Weir was no longer in the line-up.
Speaking of support bands...
I have always been a Gong/Steve Hillage fan.
Seen Hillage live many times including
at least half a dozen shows in the 1970s.
Think it was in 1978 I had tickets for two Hillage gigs.
I wandered into the first one half way into the support band's set.
The singer/guitarist blew me away.
And when they did a mega keyboard driven song this guy had
to take over from the keyboard player!
So...at the 2nd gig I am in my seat early to see their full set.
Fucking brilliant!
Found out later the front man's name was Trevor Rabin.
regards
Titus
