Martin Barre/Pat O'May/Patrick Rondat
(3 Guitars For A Night)
Le Grillen
Colmar, France
November 9th 2019

This is a really good gig.
I know it looks a bit like a G3 guitar extravaganza
and, as you'd expect, there are ample guitar histrionics
but only Rondat is a purely instrumental artist
so there are also many top notch songs.
Especially the Pat O'May stuff.
Check out his excellent solo albums.
Tull/Barre fans may well be interested but it is also good
for anyone who wants to hear/discover some great music.
Quite a bit of talking in French of which I barely understand a word.
So ideal for Derek and other French speakers.
I retracked and renamed the whole thing.
Then I rolled back the bass by two decibels to reduce the 'boomy' sound.
The recording was heavily overdriven
with lots of extreme clipping (going into the red)
This was addressed by normalising each channel individually.
It remains, however, very loud.
I'd start off at 30% volume and work from there.
Depending on personal taste/deafness.
...you have been warned!
regards
Titus
