US Festival 1983
May 28th - 30th
Part 9/9
The final part of this (n)ever-popular radio anthology.
I had great hopes for Missing Persons when they first formed.
Ex-Zappa pop might be great! It wasn't.
Scorps sound good. Nice talk-box guitar from Matty Jabs
on the up-tempo version of 'The Zoo'.
The Van Halen brothers (plus two blokes they don't like)
manage, as usual, to create the illusion of a cohesive unit.
Personally, I'd be avoiding the "Van Halen Compound".
Diamond Dave comes over like a character from
a Cheech & Chong sketch on the interview section.
He has been to the edge and there he stood and looked down.
...then Titus pushed the fucker into the abyss.
(you're dreaming again. Wake Up!...Ed.)
Fact or fiction?
Eddie Van Halen saw Steve Hackett play the 'Hogweed',
went home, worked it out and finger tapping became
an essential weapon of all Heavy Metal guitar players since.
regards
Titus
