Titus Luxor
Misfit (circa 1985)

Another song salvaged from an old cassette.
I can tell I was obsessed with Zappa when I wrote this.
Not a bad attempt at emulating Frank's 70s SG/wah-wah sound.
If I tried to sing this now I'd burst a blood vessel.
regards
Titus

Linda's having trouble with her social life
Everybody's telling her so
Living day to day on the edge of a knife
And she doesn't want her Daddy to know
She had a lot of fun and a real good run but it's over
If ever there was a misfit she's the one

Linda couldn't handle what the future may bring
Everything was out of control
Searching through the numbers for somebody to ring
To say "Lucifer has taken my soul"
She did her final deed and her wrists did bleed so it's over
If ever there was a misfit she's the one

Someone throw a lifeline
Answer all these questions of mine
Tell me what it's all about
Help me find the real way out
Cut me from the gallows
Save me from these bows and arrows
Catch me when I'm falling
Can anybody hear me calling?

Can you offer hope for me?
Can you make the blind to see?
Give me your tuition
Guide me through this superstition
Give me your conclusion
Save me from confusion
Open up my mind's eye
Help me watch the world go by

Tommy's having trouble with the boys in blue
Now he'll go to prison for sure
The Doctor says "There's nothing anybody can do"
Nobody can offer a cure
He's on the way to jail but he's out on bail in the meantime
If ever there was a misfit he's the one

When Tommy was at school he was so cheerful and bright
Always he was greedy for more
Stealing grew in time to be his greatest delight
A habit he could never ignore
And now he's past his prime and a life of crime was his downfall
If ever there was a misfit he's the one

  1. Just listened to this. Appreciated thumbs up. You should have offered this song to Ray Davies, I'm sure he would have done something with these lyrics and music.
