Alex Pretti was murdered by United States Border Patrol.
Not to be confused with ICE, I gather, but as I've mentioned before,
the uniform policy of these thugs is mailable so fuck knows who they are.
A grey overcoat is now an option it would appear.
I can imagine Trump banning non-favourable angles leaving any
future legal proceedings limited to the, Fox-friendly, video
taken from across the street and between two cars.
I grabbed this commentary piece which has a decent analysis.
Nothing new here but it's a small DL which covers all the salient points.
Key Claims from the DHS Statement
Armed Confrontation:
DHS claimed Pretti approached U.S. Border Patrol agents
while armed with a 9mm semi-automatic handgun
and two magazines of ammunition.
Violent Resistance:
The agency stated that agents attempted to disarm Pretti,
but he "violently resisted," leading an agent to fire "defensive shots"
in fear for their life and the safety of others.
Intent to Harm:
Border Patrol Commander Greg Bovino characterized the situation
as one where "an individual wanted to do maximum damage
and massacre law enforcement".
Lack of Identification:
DHS noted that Pretti did not have any identification on his person
at the time of the incident.
Response from DHS Officials
Secretary Kristi Noem: Defended the agents' actions,
stating they followed protocols and responded to an individual
who "assaulted our officers" to impede a lawful operation.
She added, "I don't know of any peaceful protester that shows up
with a gun and ammunition rather than a sign".
regards
Titus
