Sad news that Ross (The Boss) Friedman has passed away:

On February 9th 2026, Friedman announced
that he had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)
also known as motor neuron disease (MND) or Lou Gehrig's disease.
He died from the condition on March 26th aged 72.

Ross was a legendary guitarist known for his work with Dictators,
Manitoba's Wild Kingdom, Shakin' Street, Manowar and Brain Surgeons.
Pound for pound Ross was THE BOSS.
D.F.F.D.

Titus

  1. Sad news indeed. As a personal homage, yesterday I picked up my vinyl copy of Into Glory Ride and played this great album from start to finish.

  2. goddam!! when i saw the dictators in november, ross played tje last 2/3 of his set seated, commenting that his leg was bothering him.
when i later read about his diagnosis, i realized this had been an early manifestation. i also learned that the dictators had cancelled their next (and last) scheduled show.
i recently worried ross might be done gigging. his death a shock.
most shitty news. rest in peace ross.
