It is based on the story by M. R. James.
This adaptation differs from the 'Night of the Demon' version.
It is set in the, then contemporary, late 1970s
and the central protagonist is reimagined as a female character.

The always excellent Iain Cuthbertson is cast as the sinister Karswell.
Can't think of any actor at the time more qualified for the role.
